DMS Student Recognized On Albuquerque Business First’s ‘40 Under 40’ List

Alex Carter named one of New Mexico’s top young professionals and emerging leaders

Alex Carter ’26, PA-C, a student in Shenandoah University’s Doctor of Medical Science program, was recently named to Albuquerque Business First’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2024, which recognizes the top young professionals and emerging leaders throughout the state of New Mexico.

Carter is the director of population health for Molina Healthcare of New Mexico, and previously served as a physician assistant and clinical adviser for telehealth and innovation at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. She credits her Shenandoah University education with helping her advance her career and achieve her professional goals.

As a Canadian who has lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and now New Mexico, I’ve come to experience how differently individual and population health needs manifest across cultures and communities. Health care leaders with a humble mind and keen eye can best serve the most vulnerable among us, and I have a responsibility to New Mexico to become more humble and more keen. 皇冠博彩’s DMS program centers itself on health equity – from its inclusive approach to leadership theory to its rigorous and enlightened research methods. The program’s framework requires me to learn and unlearn, helping me grow into the health care provider and academic I aspire to be. I’m very proud to be a 40 Under 40 leader and a Hornet!”
